At that time a devotee T.G Vidyasagar, Mulankuzhy, understood that, a temple should be necessary for the Hindus for their adoration. And he decided to spend money for that by himself. Then he gave the responsibilities of the work to one of his labour and T.G Vidyasagar went to Kalady.

While the worker was doing the stone works, a serpent came out from these and the worker ran, reached the nearest road. The villagers asked about the matter. The worker shows the place to the villagers. For their surprise, they saw a wonderful glazing stone, without any mud, lying there.

Then the villagers called a doctor of this village, 'Surendran'. He took a bath in the Periyar and lifted the stone (Today's Sivalinga) and placed it there, where the old temple was situated. This was informed to T.G. Vidyasagar. Some devotees and T. G. Vidyasagar visited the astrologer, Aroor Sreedharapanikar. From that astrologer they understood that, this stone is an ancient 'Sivalinga', and if they keep the precious stone, it will give all the Boom and prosperity to this life.

It will be a magnificence to them, According to this, they made the Kshethra. Years passed and the Temple was renewed. But the idol was again the same. Atlas that the investiture of Mahadeva Temple also done.
